Through immersing himself in the local life, Lewis presents a fascinating insight of West meeting East. <\/p><\/div><div class=\"wak-non-acf-block wak-non-acf-block-core-paragraph\"><p class=\"western\">If you haven\u2019t read any Norman Lewis, this is a great one of his books to get started on. His curiosity for everything around him made him a great and successful <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wanderlust.co.uk\/magazine\/articles\/advice\/get-paid-to-travel---travel-writing\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">travel writer<\/a><\/strong>. It is a cautionary tale, and a lot of factors in this story subsequently happened in real life, in terms of the outcome of the Vietnam War and American involvement. For that reason and others, including a compelling and complex \u2018love triangle\u2019, T<em>he Quiet American<\/em> has remained of great interest.
